Chapter 11 ~ What comes from within

Warnings: None really just some minor wording. 80)
Announcement: I am going to take a break from Sims story writing for a short time. Focus on editing my book and getting some of the more painful parts of this particular story worked out... This marks yet another point of contention with me, because now I am really far out of my comfort zone... LOL! but I promise I will be updating again, as well I will definitely be doing one more on BAtT just to tie one thing up... Hopefully soon... I will still be reading updates but am taking a break from my own. See y'all in late August or possibly September!

A chill crept through Lydie's body as she gazed out at the once empty sand, waves crashing and foaming against the shore without sound. Her eyes wide as saucers, she gaped at the woman slow recognition seeping through her as the creature focused it’s intently upon her.
“This can’t be happening! Y-You’re not real!” Lydie stammered, slapping her hands to her mouth as she stepped back.
A scream lodged in her throat as she backed away, nearly tripped over the lawn chairs that sat behind her. Her every sense screaming with warning, invoking a deep seeded fear one she had not felt since, since that time when she’d been a child. Jayden's aura washing over her, filling her with calmness as he fought to reach the sand.
Tears sprung to Lydie's eyes, the woman she had always known to be her mother seemingly floated over the sand. Trysten's face and eyes devoid of emotion despite the unspoken communication that passed between them. The explanation all that more frightening to Lydie, stealing her breath and tearing her soul to shreds.
Jayden's thundering footsteps coming closer, Lydie stared uncomfortably upon the quickly approaching figure. Her mother's telepathic conversation with her doing little to ease the pain of what she knew was soon to come.
“LEAVE ME ALONE,” Lydie screeched, fear searing her very being, her heartbeat ceasing as she took another step backward and came to a halt against a solid form. Her heart sinking as his arms wrapped about her in a protective embrace.
Jayden made it to the beach in just the right amount of time, Lydie's fear grasping his heart as he pushed harder towards her not relaxing until she was in his embrace.
A shaky sigh sliding easily from his lips as he deeply inhaled Lydie's clean scent, suddenly fearful it was to be his last, Trysten's sudden reappearance weighing heavily upon his mind. Strengthening his embrace, he pulled her tighter against his body, the feel of her against him igniting a raging fire within his soul. "I’m here Lyd,” he whispered throatily in her ear, the urge to profess himself engulfing him, the words he wished to say next sticking in his throat.
Feeling the rush of relief pass through Lydie's being he rested his vision on the quickly approaching figure. Narrowed his eyes dangerously, never in his life would he forget her, yet this was not what he had ever seen before. “Don’t you dare come near her!”
The intense gaze the creature focused upon him ensconcing his entire being with a sense of foreboding. It slipping through his thoughts that despite not knowing what Lydie was, she was far more important than he previously believed. Not just to the clan and Carter, more so to himself. Subconsciously Jayden pulled Lydie closer as the apparition reached out her hand, pointed at him. His mind suddenly overtaken with an ancient language. One that sounded familiar yet he could not place.
Tears stung Lydie’s eyes as her mother approached, a haunting whisper echoing loudly through Lydie's mind, words of regret, sorrow and yet most importantly words that welled a deep painful ache within her very heart. Despite Jay's protective embrace she had to face reality, the instructions being given to her for if she chose not, there would never be any peace. Lydie's heart shattered as she felt Jayden's discomfort, his sense of failure; fear enveloping her as she silently prayed he did not take what was to occur as his lack of protecting her.
Horrified Lydie watched as her mother reached out her long creamy hand, a burning sensation filtering through her as Trysten's fingers wrapped about her wrist. The woman's cool fingertips shooting a shock through Lydie's body as she was suddenly thrown into darkness…
“It is time for you Lydieanna Marcel to remember your true self…” The words echoed through the blackness, sucked the air from her lungs as Lydie was sent spiraling into the unknown.
Jayden dropped to the ground, incapable of believing what had just happened; one moment he had held Lydie safely within his arms, the heat of her body still reverberating through his body and yet she was gone. Gulping he choked down a furious sob, stifled the rapidly growing sense of failure.
Carter turned his head, blinked rapidly in confusion as he attempted to decipher what had occurred, his vision resting upon the distraught form of Jayden sitting upon the sand where his daughter had once stood. The thick and distinct scent of ocean and flowers engulfing him as he glanced fearfully about; fruitlessly searched for his daughter, the young woman he had just been lecturing.
Concern encompassing him, Carter focused intently upon Jayden, who sat uncomfortably and brokenly upon the sand. His dearest confidant was broken, had finally found love, a joy and yet a chagrin for him as well. Guilt for he had had desired their union, sent the man to meet her knowing it was to be, yet the recent developments worried him. Lydie was a danger, one in which he had been a part of creating. Arianne's involvement alone, told him that Lydie was more than he was aware of. His lack of knowledge weighing heavily upon him, stealing his ability to trust in even himself. “Jayden where is she?” he nervously questioned his usually calm and commanding voice pitchy from fear.
At the sound of Carter's voice Jayden forced himself from the ground, let loose a shuddering breath, “she…she’s gone,” he managed to stammer out, fighting at the emptiness that filled his soul, the hollow ache that penetrated his heart. Burying his head in his hands, he let loose a quiet yet rumbling growl, the sound hissing out from between the cracks of his fingers. Jayden had lost the only woman he had ever cared for, needed, his only love, and his life mate. He could not help but feel that if he had just admitted it to her and himself this may not have occurred, that alone ripping him apart.
Carter swallowed hard at the lump that lodged in his throat. A knowing deep within him as much as he willed it away. “Gone where?” desperation prevalent within his tone, un wanting to believe his mother would result to stealing the girl from them, especially when she was incapable of completing the change.
Jayden's disheartened gaze rose slowly upward, focused upon his benefactor, boss and beloved father figure. He knew it would ache the man especially being he had not been about his wits. “It was Trysten…,” he whispered brokenly, privately wishing it had disappeared into the wind by the mournful look that masked Carter's face at the mention.
Carter stumbled backwards at the name, “It’s not possible…,” he murmured shocked and incapable of believing it, not wishing to do such. His wife had returned from the dead, but how…
Fury suddenly replaced everything Jayden felt, he would be damned if he did not find a way to get her back, if he had to go to Arianne or Armand himself he would. “Carter did you know that Trysten was a day walker?” he tried his best to remain calm yet the words flew from his mouth on a venomous snarl.
“What else have you hidden from me in regards to Lydie?” he demanded, boring his eyes into Carter's soul, bypassing the elders attempts to block him, something shifting within him giving him a new sense and ability. It was rare for a younger half blood to be capable of breaching an elder’s barrier, yet he needed to know just what carter knew.
Carter sighed, confused at the statement, “Trysten could not be a day walker, I would have known.” He whispered as Jayden bypassed his barriers, searched through his memories, his thoughts.
The strange glow in his beloved friend and confidants eyes striking him odd, worrying him. “Jay how are you doing that?” he finally managed to stammer out, his head aching as Jayden's rage pounded against him, wracked his body.
Jayden tossed his head backwards, glared at the sky, as he broke free of the attachment. Guilt, disgust, and fear filling his very soul.
Turning abruptly away from his benefactor, Jayden silently cursed himself; he had never known he was capable draining another's soul energy. Carter's weak and pained statement frightening him. “I-I don’t know…” He lied achingly, his mothers face flashing through his mind as she spoke in the same language Trysten had…
Arianne stormed past Manning, her alert gaze quickly searching the room for Armand. It took her months to locate her husband and with his being here in Bayview unsettled her.
“Where is he?” she demanded turning her intense gaze upon the growling Lycan.
Manning had to swallow down the rage, the immediate lust he felt as memories of his onetime affair with his master’s wife flitted through his mind. Her beauty never ceasing to strike him.
“I do not know,” he eventually managed to force out, his entire body tingling as she raked her eyes over him, a cruel smile across her lips a flicker of something in her eyes as she rested her gaze upon that part of him. The intensity stirring feelings he had long since abandoned.
Clucking her tongue at him she brought her gaze back to his, matching him eye for eye her aura vibrating the air about them. “Such a shame, there was once a time that you were so willing,” Arianne purred huskily.
“Of course that was before you decided to take my husband’s mistress as your mate,” she added, placing extra emphasis to the word mistress knowing that it would unnerve him.
Guilt washed over Manning as he thought of his actions that day so many years before. The night she had arrived and found Armand and Alexis together along with Arianne. A chill shooting through his spine at the memory of his mate in his masters hands, the heated and passionate exchange between himself and Arianne. “Leave her out of this, had it not been for your husband Alexis would never have done such,” he snarled suddenly shaking the thoughts away worry engulfing him as he hoped Lexi had not been around when Arianne had arrived.
Arianne scowled at his reply, she knew it was truth yet she herself were partly to blame for her husband’s indiscretions; had she not left him to his own he would have never touched the girl.
Hurriedly dismissing the memories she narrowed her eyes upon the Lycan, "I do not know why you are here Manning, yet I assure you I have no qualms in tearing out your throat especially if it is as I suspect..." She snarled, her words trailing off at the sound of the door opening.
The scent of jasmine slammed against Armand like a brick wall as he rushed into his quarters.
"Well-well," he murmured under his breath as Armand’s wild-eyed gaze fell upon the delicate features, falls of white silk hair.
“I knew you could not stay away,” he murmured throatily, his body reacting in only the way it would to her. His canines lengthening as he thought of how sweet her blood would be.
He watched in amusement as she turned her enraged gaze from Manning upon him. His keen vision catching the faint movement of her throat as she swallowed fought against the heat that threatened to encompass her entire being. “Why are you here?” she growled the sound vibrating the air in an unearthly manner, throwing him off balance for the briefest of moments until he realized that she too was aware of the girl.
Sighing heavily he cocking his head and rested one hand upon his hip, “Est ce de toute façon pour saluer votre mari plein d'adoration?” he murmured in his native language, caressing each syllable as he slowly stepped forward. (*see Bottom for supposed translation, cant really trust word LOL!)
His eyes locking into hers holding her captive, “Mon amour, mon ange comment j'ai désiré ardemment pour toi …”he whispered when her barrier relaxed, her soul, and her body reacting to his presence. (** See bottom for supposed translation 80D)
She felt the slip almost immediately, her long silent heartbeat echoing loudly in her ears as he moved with the lithe grace of a panther stalking its prey.
Her mind numbed as he approached her, rolling heat settling deep within her core as his elegant, well-manicured hand reached out and he skimmed his fingers over her jaw. “Manning leave!” Armand growled hungrily, a glance downward telling her that he had an alternate idea in mind.
Arianne stood immobile, leaned her cheek against his cool fingers. A flood of desire filling her entire being. How long it had been. His intense gaze boring into her, "my dearest why are you here?" he whispered as he pressed his slender hips against her, the heat of his desire pressing firmly against her thigh. His mouth a mere few centimeters from her own.
Rage suddenly building within her as his mouth trailed along her jaw, his fangs scraping ever so gently, "Do not question me!" She hollered pushing abruptly away from him, "have you come to hurt her?" she demanded a chill shooting through her body as Armand began to chuckle.
"I hate you Armand Marcel, you have destroyed me and I will be damned if I let you destroy her!" she snarled shoving her finger not so gently into his solid and unyielding chest.
In an instant he was upon her, had her firmly pressed against his lean body, as his hands caressed her. "My dear angel, you do not hate me I know this to be fact. For you would have destroyed me long ago," he seductively murmured a taunting smile spreading over his lips as he gazed into her eyes, filled her thoughts with his plans for the evening.
"I have come for my grandchild, although it was a surprise when Manning informed me that she was...a female." he purred lowering his lips to hers for a brief yet thorough taste. "I assure you with Carter and Jayden about I shant be able to get near her," he murmured lifting her into his arms. "You would have to choose to wear pants when you come to see me after 200 years," he purred her scent, the promise of what he would soon have more than he could withstand.
Arianne laughed lightly at his comment, "Of course, it would never do to let you have such easy access to what you so desire," she huskily purred, falling easily into his embrace the feel of his cool fingers along her shoulder sending a thrill through her body. "I still hate you," she whispered stifling a gasp as they fell backwards.
Armand gazed into his wife’s eyes forced the unnerving thoughts of her interest in their granddaughter aside. "I have missed you my love, whether you hate me or not," he whispered truthfully, as she straddled him, skimmed her finger over his ear. "You know I go mad when I do not have my angel," he toyed grinding upwards as she settled against him. Tonight he would spend in her arms and hopefully he could convince her stay...

Translations: Now I must say I used the translation option from word on this so it is most likely not true, LOL!

* Est ce de toute façon pour saluer votre mari plein d'adoration Translated from French is supposedly "Is that anyway to greet your adoring husband?"

**Mon amour, mon ange comment j'ai désiré ardemment pour toi Translation My love my angel how I have longed for you.

Hi Cherie,

Again, stunning shots you pulled together on the beach, adds to the ethereal feel, I love the one where Jayden is running toward her in the background.
For all his snarly, bombastic appearance, Jayden really is a hero, and loves Lydie. So obvious. But tragically, it was not enough.
The ancient language is familiar to Jayden? Hmmmm.
Lydie is showing some strength of character here, accepting she must go with her mother if there is to be any peace. And her last thoughts of Jayden, hoping he would not take it so much to heart.
Wonderfully played.
So, did I read this right, Carter did not see Trysten? But Lydie and Jayden...did. Wow. A Daywalker, cannot wait to see where you go with this! And there is obviously more to Jayden here than we know!
Ooooo. Nice turn, Jayden capable of draining another's soul's energy. Great twist!
Manning had an affair with Arianne?(And Lexi with Armand!)
And wow, isn't she the lustful hag, raking her eyes over Manning, LOL! (but then, who wouldn't!)
And Ari is dangerous, throat rippings aside!
Nice touch having Armand speak French, his native tongue.
200 Years!? LOL! What a wicked love/hate relationship Armand and Ari have, ~"You know I go mad when I do not have my angel,"~ Nicely put.
Really interesting interactions here, with the relationships tangling up even more.
Look forward to more in the fall, mate. You are crafting quite the tale here, with your own twist on the vamp mythos.
Keep going!!

Cheers, and have a great summer!

Can't wait to see what happens with Trysten and Lydie there. Should be interesting :)

Heheh. I love Jayden. He's so obviously in love with her, and soooo in denial.

Seriously, really enjoying this, with all these complex characters and the relationships between them. Can't wait to see where this goes :)

cheripye July 5, 2009 12:37 PM

Thank you Drew!for all the wonderful compliments and support!

The shots were the easy part on this one. LOL! Yes he is actually was the hateful hero! I am sure he will get me for that one, LOL! Even if he had said it, this still would have occurred, so close and yet now so far, LOL! Lydie's awakening in her own right, and she loves Jayden beyond her own reasoning... Plus she felt something. Will be explained more in depth eventually. 80)

No Carter didnt see Trysten, he was frozen... Dont ask how I havent figured it out yet, LOL! and Daywalkers!!! Oh boy part of the confusion I have to pound a few chapters on this one... So I should be busy. LOL!Yep Jayden has something more to him, and Lydie or Trysten just awakened it... hehehe

Yes a one time thing 200 years ago, it is why Arianne left him. She could no longer stand to be around him. LOL! Exactly who wouldnt?! LOL!

Ari is turning into an interesting character, she is a B**** and yes dangerous perhaps more so than Armand... LOL! I thought I would toy with it, who knows if it is an appropriate conversion. For all I know I am calling her an old hag, LOL! but Armand is French after all...

This was a painful chapter writing wise, exactly for that reason to many tangled up messes and relationships... And each one makes me want to say Ooh I can do a story on that. LOL!

Thank you very much!!! you enjoy your summer break and will see you in the fall! *waving*

cheripye July 5, 2009 12:39 PM

Thank you Dinuriel!

Hopefully will be interesting, LOL! struggling a bit with the next few pieces. 80)

Definate denial on Jay's part, but I love him... As foul as he may be at times. 80)

Thank you again!!

I wonder what it was about Lydie's mother that helped to keep the fact that she was a day walker under wraps. Was she intentionally holding back that information? Did she herself know? Also, I wonder why Carter wouldn't see Trystan?

Yeesch. Armand and Arianne are sort of an icky couple. They're both so creepy. I don't know what they have planned for Lydie but I don't particularly like it.

Also, that translation was a little wonky. I would translate the first one as: Est cela la façon dont tu salues ton mari qui t'adore? (Literally: Is that the way you greet your husband who adores you?) "Est ce de toute façon pour saluer" actually makes no sense.

For the second one: Mon amour, mon ange! Je t'ai désiré si ardemment! Since that's what MS Word was trying to say. :P The phrase, "how I have longed for you" doesn't translate directly. So what you end up with is something more like, "I have desired you so fervently!" Which sounds a little better in French than it does in English.

Gorgeous images, as always, Cherie!

Penelope July 5, 2009 6:59 PM

*wouldn't should be "couldn't"

I get worse and worse at typing all the time. :p

Gayl July 5, 2009 9:41 PM

Another brilliant piece of work Cherie. As always your shots are just stunning.

I am so curious as to where Trysten took Lydie and why. I felt so bad for Jayden now that he is starting to accept his feelings and his role. And apparently his powers? There is so much more than meets the eye here!

Loved Ari and Arnaud together. What a volatile relationship and you handled it quite well.

Enjoy your hiatus!

cheripye July 5, 2009 11:04 PM

Trysten will eventually be explained, it is all relative to where Lydie has been pulled off too… Carter was frozen, by Trysten, yet another thing with Lydie and Jay too, they were able to avoid the manipulation. 80) with as many times as I was in and out of the lot taking screens I couldn’t keep him positioned properly, so he moved places. 80)

Ari and Arm are certainly creepy but I like them, they make excellent bad guys… LOL!

I figured the translation was wpnky and off, I only speak English and used MS Words translator, I wont be using alternate languages again anytime soon unless I find a better site to help me do such accurately. I tried translating it back and forth and it gave me the same meanings that I had originally asked for.

Thank you for reading and thanks for compliment on the images as well as the advice.

cheripye July 5, 2009 11:14 PM

Thank you so much Gayl!

Trysten and Lydie well Lyd has to remember her true self, in preparation for the next phase. Jayden will stop at nothing to get her back safe and sound and Lydie will be returning, 80). I always had plans for Jayden, a bit different in his own right, once again part of my Daywalker explanation which is currently giving me fits. LOL!

Ari and Arm, LOL! Definite love hate, hate love relationship. Ari is the only he has ever loved and he is thoroughly consumed with her just as she herself is with him. But they are not good together… Especially with their different reasoning’s and desires for Lyd .

Thank you again, and I will going to work on writing, editing and getting this tough parts cleared up.

Phoenix July 5, 2009 11:15 PM

Wow, wow, wow!! There is so much going on here. How come no one knew Trysten was a Daywalker is the million dollar question huh Cherie? She kept that under wraps quite well didn't she?

And Jay is coming to realize how much he cares about her. I just hope that it isn't too late for him to do something about it!

Armand and Arianne...I don't know what to say about them. They are definitely not a conventional couple are they? Separated for two hundred years and yet they clash and spark as if it were yesterday!

Good stuff here Cherie! Your pictures are stunning as usual and your writing is fabulous! I only speak English as well so I thought the translations sounded awesome! LOL!!:P

cheripye July 6, 2009 9:38 AM

LOL! Thanks Phoenix!
Trysten I have decided knew what she was, but for her safety had to keep it under wraps... but how she managed to hide it is the issue... LOL!

Jay and Lyd will meet again, granted their next meet up will be... well I will leave it at that, LOL! cant give to much away now can I. 80) but yes he is slowly coming to realize he loves her...

Yep Ari and Armand interesting couple of bad guys. LOL! I know they are creepy but I am having oh so much fun with those two. They love eachother dearly but she hates him just as much. I guess she cant get over whatever Arm is uhm... Well he must know how to do things right, LOL!

Thanks for the compliment! I am so glad you enjoyed!!! by the end of this break my fingers will be bloody stubs, from chewing on my nails. LOL!

Emily July 13, 2009 9:49 AM

Wonderful piece Cherie! I loved the tension building up on the beach, Jayden running to the rescue was so hot! :D

And oh no, where did she take Lydie?! What a place to leave that off! (And right before your break, you naughty girl you!) LOL.

I too am really concerned what they are planning to do with Lyd, it's quite unnerving considering they are all her family!

And woof! Ari and Armand's scene was hot, hot, hot!

Fabulous chapter, cannot wait for more!

cheripye July 13, 2009 1:31 PM

Thanks Emily!!
Yes *smacking own hand* what a bad place to leave off. I am going to be working on another update as I can so it may not be too long, because this new job is definately! going to require alot of focus and attention. LOL!

I liked that scene with Jayden and the screen too, he actually looked the right direction, LOL!

Hoping to explain just where they took her in the next update, and of course a little more on what her family wants with her. LOL!

Ari and Armand are so bad and yet I adore those two characters, they literally write themselves!

Glad you enjoyed!!!

S@ndy August 5, 2009 1:29 PM

YAY I made it...
First of all, I'm really sorry it took me so long to get here...

This chapter was just as amazing as the whole story, the twists and turns you are adding just make the story even better, the characters are growing and some of them are finally accepting their feelings, hopefully it wont be too late for them.
Even though they are vampires, they sure are a lot like humans.
Like I said the storyline is so different from any vampire tale I have read, and the characters so unique and so likable... I'm really enjoying reading more about the new characters, Manning, Armand and Ari sure promise to add more excitement to the story...

Trystan a day walker was a complete shock!!!! I don't know what to expect, is she a good girl or a bad girl, is she really dead? can a day walker die? where did she took Lyd?
So many questions, I'm really looking forward to your come back!!! I can't wait to see what you do with this story!

Jay, hopefully he will find a way to reach Lyd, and hopefully when she is back, he will indeed accept he loves her!!!

This chapter was AWESOME, love the sexiness of it, the tension of it, and every single twist was not expected but really enjoyable!!!

Wonderful writing and beautiful shots like always!!

Bravo!!!

cheripye August 5, 2009 9:41 PM

S@ndy absolutely no worries,
I know you have a million stories to catch up on! 80)

Yes they are all seeming to grow... Slowly for a few quickly for others. LOL!

That is the best compliment that I can get, considering I really want to make my story different from all the others out there. 80) I am so glad that the characters including the bad are likable!

Hehehe, Trysten will come in a bit, and I cant give away too awful much. 80) *wink*

Jay and Lydie have something to work towards, and yes she will return unfortunately a bit quickly but fortunately for Jay... I just figured out the next step, LOL!

Thank you again your reading and your wonderful compliment mean so very much!!! Thank You!
